Our History

Dr. Gary Blick treated an HIV-positive couple in Zimbabwe and helped them give birth to an HIV-negative child in 2002 – years before prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) became the standard of care throughout the world. Today, Dr. Blick is proud to be godfather to this child.

In partnership with the Zimbabwe Ministry of Health of Child Care, HCAI has provided vital healthcare to nearly 10,000 Zimbabwean orphans, children, adolescents, and adults with HIV. We continue to support those in need through high quality treatment, education, and testing.

Our Work

Our charitable efforts have changed individual lives and entire communities. Over the years, we have:

- Opened a state-of-the-art HIV treatment facility in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, owned by Zimbabwean people and designed specifically for their needs.

- Provided care to HIV patients in Zimbabwe with successful outcomes.

- Created campaigns aimed at ending stigma and discrimination against people in the HIV-positive and LGBTQ+ communities.
